Simon Carrington seminar!!!!!!!

Hello, I`m Hase G in Japan. We, male choir GINGA, have taken part the Satellite siminar in Kobe of Tokyo Cantat and perform the piece of Sanctus including Benedictus from Mass for three voices composed by W.Byrd as a model choir for male voices.
The lecturer was one of the greatest choir conductor and singer, Simon Carrington. After getting and deterimining the detail of this seminar all members were surged up and play rehearsal with expecting to meet him.
It was honor to participate that as model choir and be taught directly by him. Of course it was so much fruitful for us and excite. He(Simon) talked us with gentle voice and give us many interesting suggestion on stage. Our conductor have agreed with his teaching totaly. The words he says "I`m not Byrd" "Now I would like to suggest such performance like this but tomorrow my mind may change" "Please listen the quiet after finishing the song" were impression personaly.

After finishing the seminar, party was held at same building. Simon also joined this party and when we went to talk to him, he kindly accept our request of taking a photo with him.

By the way, it is one of the thing which make us famous in West Japan area that behavior in the partis like the picture below. If someone starts singing, all members will join the chorus. Then we performed Saidara-bushi (one of the most famous folk song of Tohoku region). Singing with laud voice in party is one of our identity, i notice lol. Because the party was without alcohol!!!

We also had an oppotunity of getting new member
Anyway such opotunity was very unusual event. We should have a pride for taking his seminar and being given the comment "very nice!!".

We deeply thanks for inviting the seminar as a model choir to Simon Carrington, staff of Tokyo cantat and Hyogo Ensemble-no-kai.

Thank you
